What We’re Looking For
We publish short fiction ONLY. No poems or nonfiction.
We are looking for stories that capture the mood and feel of the old EC horror comics, the Amicus horror anthologies from the 1970s, old school Hammer, Night Gallery, Kolchak, etc. We prefer literal monsters to the metaphoric kind. Nothing too depressing or highbrow.
How to Submit
Stories should be between 2,000 and 5,000 words in length (a little over or under is fine).
Please submit only ONE story at a time.
Please copy and paste your story into the body of the email as plain text. NO ATTACHMENTS.

Please include a brief 3rd person bio along with your submission. We like bios that are slanted more towards who you are as a person, less towards all the places you’ve been published. Feel free to include social media handles if you like.
No reprints — we define a reprint as anything previously published anywhere, including blogs, forums, social media, etc.
Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please let us know as soon as possible if your story is accepted elsewhere.
Response Time
30 days or less. Feel free to inquire after 30 days if you haven’t heard from us.
Whether your story is accepted or declined, please wait at least 30 days before submitting another story.
Payment
We are a non-paying market at this time.
Rights
We ask for first-time electronic publication rights. After publication, all rights revert back to the author. Stories are archived and available on the website in perpetuity (or so long as the internet is a thing).
